When the unconscious finds form,
the symbol becomes a living image…
IMAGO SOMNII [the image of the dream] is a creative laboratory for working with images, born from my own experience of dreamwork within my Jungian analytic process.
From this personal path, the practice of digital collage emerged as a privileged medium for dialogue between the conscious and the unconscious, allowing the dream image to find form, colour, and substance.
Here, the imaginal or dream material — already welcomed in the analytic space—finds continuation in the creative act through the materiality of the image.
Digital collage becomes an extension of active imagination: a symbolic process in which the psyche manifests itself through living images, engaging the transcendent function and fostering psychic integration.
Creation here is not guided by aesthetics, but by symbolic intentionality.
Through cutting, composing, and fragmenting, the image becomes a ritual of recognition and individuation.
The symbol gains a sensitive body—texture, colour, relationship—and reveals itself as an embodied experience of the psyche.
Over four formative and experiential sessions, we explore the foundations of digital collage and the Procreate program:
-
image gathering in resonance with the dream material;
-
creation of compositions that express the dream feeling;
-
moments of reflective writing and contemplation, in dialogue with the personal imaginal field.
This process nurtures deep symbolic integration, where the dreamed image becomes matter for consciousness, and the oneiric experience transforms into a creative gesture.
The symbol ceases to be only an inner representation and becomes an active transformative process - a place where the unconscious finds its voice and consciousness is touched by the soul.
“The image is a condensed expression of psychic fact.”
C. G. Jung, CW 6, § 689
